We all have anecdotal incidents regarding birth. However, it is critical that women have a choice in where and how they deliver. Just as each woman is different, so is her birthing experience. Yes it is painful that is the way it is meant to be. Having confidence in those around you and where you are is the solution; for some this will be in hospital for others in their own home, their bed, against a tree or in a bathtub. Assessment of the mother and her risk factors is essential. Many women are able to have their preference of birth not be dictated as to where this should happen by a government afraid of everything.
