Many women are able to have their preference of birth not be dictated as to where this should happen by a government afraid of everything. ....................
How many of these people complaining about lousy govt's and loss of choice would really be prepared to live with the consequence of their choice.
I know it won't happen in the real world, but what if those that choose home birth were excluded from hospital assistance should things go wrong. What if home birth choice was exactly that ... you chose home over hospital. Fix your complication at home, period.
Maybe you would have second thoughts about choice and more interest in risk reduction and overall safety.
