Good post. Set me thinking about that Tom Cruise movie....'Collateral' I think it was called???
The taxi driver keeps a picture postcard of a beautiful deserted tropical island on the inside of his sun visor; white sand, palm trees, the works. Whenever things get too much, stress building up, he just flips the visor down for a look, imagines being there.
Just need to carry an image like that around in your head; a place to go to where you really don't care what everyone else is up to. Of course, smiling serenely might just wind the other person up even more, but you get the drift.
