The Weatherford payment must be disclosed to the shareholders eventually.
You cannot have a settlement where the shareholders are kept in the dark, otherwise how do you account for it ?
Otherwise directors could say...well we're technically bankrupt and we can trade whilst we are insolvent and we will go to jail but don't worry we aren't really because we have so much money from a settlement, but sorry we can't tell the auditors...so we'll take the jail option thanks.
I'm sure non-disclosure would be until the company has to legally report its position.
One lives and hopes that is the position.
