I think a lot of people have missed a key point, archTIS has a patent that is progressing, to me that patent makes big claims on the data security issues, and a patent once granted could be what everyone will have to pay to use.

So the question is why doesn't MS buy archTIS? well I am sure the patent will be 100x more valuable after it is granted (soon I would guess), so does MS offer $100M now, or $1B in a year's time? and would archTIS welcome an offer that puts little value on the patent in progress?

Seems to me that MS does not need to buy archTIS to be in the best position, it is friends with archTIS, it can bundle the products.

Of course at any moment MS could decide that there is great value in making an offer of say $200M, but given all the secrecy we assume about contracts etc, maybe they are already talking... boxes being ticked
