Well isn't it a matter of looking in the register, and tracing the ownership of the holding co back to a parent or an "in common" adviser in some tax haven who does not disconfirm the rumour? The article refers to a strategic holder "on" the register! I would suspect the journos would know what questions to ask the rumour "provider"!
