Grange Resources boss Honglin Zhao boss in shares splurge

Grange Resources Limited's boss has spent up big on shares in the Savage River iron ore miner.

Managing director and chief executive Honglin Zhao bought 440,000 shares for about $265,000 on July 2.
That took his total holding to 1.73 million shares, valued at about $1.238 million going by Thursday's share price.

Grange's share price has increased strongly in recent weeks.



Its financials have been boosted by strong iron ore prices.

The Burnie-headquartered company received an average price of $297.66 per tonne in the March quarter, up from $236.77 in the previous quarter.
Cash operating cost per tonne was $113.11 in the March quarter, giving the company a strong margin.
"The efforts of the team have been supported by very strong prices in the market, resulting in a strong first quarter of 2021," Mr Zhao said in the company's March quarterly report.

"The team continues to focus on optimising the life of mine plan at Savage River and assessing the strategic and technical studies of its open pit, underground and Southdown projects."
Southdown is a large iron ore project in Western Australia which is yet to enter production.
