EOS and Ben got blindsided when they lost the original CROWS contract after it was awarded to them and it nearly bankrupted the company.

They didn't see COVID coming however as well and in retrospect they probably would have had to raise additional capital if they hadn't gotten an additional accelerated Australian government order but the fact that they did and have been given the opportunity to act as a prime contractor for C4 EDGE by the Australian government when the communications side of things is a new facet for the company that they have only been working on for 2 years from interviews of its executives. They have invested the profits from the RWS contracts and money they have raised into Spacelink but it will need hundred's of millions of capital and probably not cashflow positive until 2024-2025.

Audacy where EOS got its spectrum from already had $100m a year in MOUs signed for usage of their constellation but was unable to raise more money after their first cubesat failed to work.

You pretty much have to take it on faith that they would not build a production line in the USA and now Germany without some expectation that orders would follow and they mentioned that the USA production line's focus was on the CUAS system. Or continue to invest so heavily in Spacelink or for the people now working at Spacelink to have jumped ship from their old jobs without some expectation that it would come through and raise capital. He seems like a smart guy and has learnt his lesson. If the competitors don't know what your capability is, it makes it hard to reverse engineer.

The proof is in the pudding however and Ben is now probably getting to 3-4 years from his presentation where he said that the time was now for EOS in terms of space and the RWS program.
