Here's ScoMos Goldilocks population Plan ( not too manny Innigrants and not too Few)
which essentially concentrates on highly skilled workers and workers for rural &
regional Australia. There are two items of interest here, IMO:

Many Right Wing Populists who advocate the shut down of our Immigrant program
(against ScoMo's Population Plan) still vote for ScoMo

I note with interest that Pauline Hansen has dropped her "Asiain Phobia" since she has found a new
lease of political life in barracking for the Cockie underdogs.

A potential immigration family whose kids are Aussies and with Jobs in Biloela (how rural/regional is that)
is even prevented from living temporarily in Biloela let alone allowed to settle/work there.

For those of us who, over the past 50 years, have traveled throughout rural Aus and seen rural
populations & support services wither on the vine due to negative population growth, the prospect
of seeing that happen to our cities is far from being acceptable. Since the 90s immigration has accounted for about 45%
of our population growth and without it we'd have stagnated both population wise & economically.

ScoMos Population Policy above seems to support that, IMO.
