Our combined Governments debt is $1.4 trillion AUD with the real prospect of that
increasing to 100% GDP within the next 2 terms of Government.

We have about 14 million taxpayers and if we were to pay down the debt tomorrow it would
cost us $100,000 each which would ve your current lifestyle a bit of a jolt....eh?
IMO the more taxpayers we have , the lower that debt will be going forward per taxpayer.
If we stop immigration then logically the number of taxpayers we'll have, the higher ax per taxpayer
we'll have to pay ongoing and the higher debt per taxpayer we'll have to pay.

This is why the OP asks how much income you and others are willing to forgo to stop immigration?
The rest of the noise is simply dodging the question, IMO (can't have cake and eat it too eh?)

Wealth per person in 2020 was
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), household wealth skyrocketed by $501 billion in the last three months of last year, which was the strongest quarterly growth since December 2009.

Wealth per person hit $467,709, and total household wealth hit $12 trillion — both records.

I think that number would be higher this year with the lowest immigration in 100 years.
