"Competing solutions
Currently there are limited cloud/web-based 3D point cloud data solutions that offer the scale and interoperability that Pointerra provides. Most of the competing services are viewing solutions only and do not offer detailed analytics and interactive capabilities. None have the scalability of Pointerra or can handle multiple 3D datasets including terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, photogrammetric imagery, reality meshes, and advanced at-scale data analytics."

"Cost Benefit
Based on a cost avoidance model, calculating the savings in project costs and efficiencies using the Pointerra solution, it is estimated that the current savings are in the order of a minimum of $500,000 over a 12 month period (demonstrated by the case studies evidenced in this business case)."

"Current situation
ANZ currently maintains a 2TB/month ($2,000 USD) data license which is being funded partly by cost recovery on projects and the remaining through the operational PU. The existing account license supports a range of projects across ANZ. Our 2TB data allocation currently is fully utilised, including active and archived data usage and is therefore not scalable for broader project/business use with a limited number of projects currently capable of accessing the service. Which is resulting in lost opportunities and lost revenue."

For additional funding ($166k AUD) to increase our data use and storage allocation to 6TB/month but also importantly added benefits such as analytical tools which provide increased efficiencies for some of our current workflows, early access to new developments and on-going coordination with the Pointerra development team, and the ability to share tokens.

"This business case recommends that an enterprise agreement for the Pointerra services as detailed in the attached proposal be supported and budget approved. The value creation potential, cost savings and benefits gained from this investment are significant and directly support our digital transformation strategy to deliver integrated digital delivery solutions for design engineering."
