By connecting all these separate networks they are adding value each time, making something bigger and reducing administrative overheads per tower. They also have more control over the plans they offer customers than NBN RSPs.
If you havent noticed, towers are just starting to be seen as a valuable assets in Australia, with Telstra 's tower sales by big super funds, and Optus sale on its way. I expect these towers (and masts) are not in the same league, but they could be appreciating in value as an asset as well.
