Great post, thanks for explanation. Can you help clarify something for me?

I.m guessing this type of shorting is different from someone just selling and hoping to buy in at a lower rate? For example does it involve borrowing to sell and buy? Something like that? I'm just with commsec atm, and they dont provide that 'product'.

Second, in terms of the daily sales, does it simply turn up as a sell? Or is it a different category? (ie should we expect to see additional 400k sells?)

Appreciate if you can answer these somewhat simple questions.

My feeling is that, regardless of above, these shorters still have a positive view of the company as a whole, but simply wish to buy in at a lower price, and are willing to take a bet on it. They basically want to buy, but at a lower price and are willing to bet on it. In that sense i see it as broadly supporting what the company is doing, but not what the SP is doing. Is that right on not really?

Again, thanks in advance for any answers to stupid question, just wanting to learn

    gltah
