To add to what @tinhat has said; what was the reason you invested $480k in the first place? As your post seems to say, the company had no clear direction, so was very speculative at that time. Were there no warning signs that maybe $480k was too much to have invested? It's easy to blame the company and the people running it at the time but at the end of the day you're the one who invested..
