To clarify.
Investopedia
A tick is a measure of the minimum upward or downward movement in the price of a security. A tick can also refer to the change in the price of a security from one trade to the next trade. Since 2001 and the advent of decimalization, the minimum tick size for stocks trading above $1 is one cent.1
For most stocks, the tick size is $0.01, but fractions of a cent may also occur. "Pips" and "bps" are also tick sizes used in currencies and fixed-income markets. Not Shares.
Pips are for currency, not securities.
Maybe I am pedantic. However, I like things to be correct. If you phoned your broker regarding a stock's movement and asked how many pips has it moved, he will go WTF.
