Telstra wants its limit to be increased from 82MHz to 102 MHz to allow it to bid for about 43 per cent of the spectrum on offer. The government is currently assessing the ACCC’s recommendations and is expected to make a decision on the limits in the next few weeks. Mr Penn says if the government progresses with the existing recommendations, it will effectively lock Telstra out of re-bidding for spectrum it already holds.
