I find it very interesting that despite you starting this thread personally and outlining what you are trying to achieve by it, certain posters keep wanting to change the scope of your thread.
A cynical person might suggest that they are trying to derail the thread.
They could go and start their own threads and talk about whatever they like but instead they keep butting in with their own clear agenda based rhetoric which is not aligned with the theme that you've suggested.
While the deniers pretend to be not deniers and keep rabbiting on, Australia and the rest of the world continues to move forward. And, the rate of change is speeding up when you look around. Huge projects are now being proposed all around the country and the world.
To the theme of your thread, I note the new head of AEMO has set a target of Australia to be able to run off 100% renewables by 2050. I think this is a very smart move. A move that should have been made by the federal government long ago.
" Westerman describes the running of a whole state with power that is zero fuel cost and zero emissions as a “stunning phenomenon”, and says it calls for a “paradigm shift” in collaboration and co-operation.
“Under my leadership, AEMO will work closely and collaboratively with governments, industry and communities to design the affordable, reliable energy system that Australia needs,” he says. “An energy system that’s capable of handling 100% renewable energy, at any moment of the day, by 2025.”
However, he notes that this poses challenges to grid engineers, comparing the lack of “synchronous generation” to the task of trying to ride a bike “really, really slowly.”
" Spark Renewables, part of the listed network investment company Spark Infrastructure, is proposing a massive 2.5GW wind, solar and battery storage hub in south west NSW, in the heart of a planned renewable energy zone. "
