I'm guessing those same ....uh... "experts" were foretelling the imminent demise of coal markets.

I take it those "experts" did not offer any opinion about much Australian coal finds its way into Europe (either directly or indirectly).

Would, one wonders, the proportional quantity be:

A. A fraction of a tiny sliver of nothing much?
B. Two bits of one hundredth of 1% of very little at all?
C. Very close to zero?
D. Zero?


One can't help observing the degree to which the ideologically rusted-on types are becoming increasingly irked by the strong and enduring demand for coal, which is being reflected in record coal prices.

Instead of the demise of the coal industry, as passionately desired in certain quarters, coal miners are currently experiencing booming profitability.

And the resulting gnawing chagrin of the coal-a-phobes is becoming quite palpable.

Welcome to the world of unintended consequences.
