True what you say but don't forget the company receieved money in return for the shares issued. That must also be taken into account because it helps offset the issue of the shares.

In other words the shares were not issued for free and dilution was suffered most by those who didn't take up their rights. EPS growth has been affected which affects the future shareprice, but what of the company's future shareprice without the capital raising?

The chart eventually reflects the markets view of all that has happened and currently it reflects the fact that the market has accepted the issue of shares and raising of capital as being positive.
