one doesn't have to be a pessimist to predict that Empires fall
one only has to read a history book - any history book
if someone thinks that Empires don't fall - then, that's actually psychosis --
not optimist
as to the state of play in the power of the world --
well - when Rome fell - it was a long drawn out affair - it was picked on at the edges by little annoying groups --------
Rome didn't have a China ---------- Rome had little annoying people and a corrupt guts
today - America has a corrupt guts - but, it's got a very very very big kid who has appeared on the block
don't expect that this time it will be a slow drawn out collapse like Rome
it might be a very rapid knockdown and stay flat on the mat
that's not pessimistic - that's merely looking at possibilities
