very true. however this would be a good thing for them in a higher interest rate environment
it keeps them relevant and competitive
if I'm understanding your post correctly, I'd say that I wouldn't agree in having a large portion of shareholder value held on default fees as a revenue stream
but I think you mean better rates means smaller margins
