I don’t think the ABC as an organisation had a political stance. It the reporters and producers who express their, if you want to call it that, ’biased’ opinion.
When I watch the news on ABC and interviews of politicians see the interviewer grill both sides quite equally. When labor was in power they got dragged over the coal face with their pink batts scandal and back of party room dramas etc. Now it isn’t the ABCs fault that the coalition has been involved in more scandals and failing than other parties.
I think the ABC as free news service is integral to a well functioning democracy where not everyone has access to subscriber only news services or privately owned channels with the potential to manipulate the news.
