proposal for power station in narrabri

Just browsing thru all the applications for power stations with the NSW Dept of Planning and noticed one from May 2007 by East Coast Power for a 172 MW (rising to 250 MW once enough gas is available)gas-fired power station at Narrabri. ECP is associated with Gunnedah Gas Pty Ltd which owned PEL 450 ... Santos recently bought all of Gunnedah Gas I think. The proposal was to use gas from PEL 450 and to get gas from Queensland via the QHVP, and included applications to connect also to the APA Central Ranges pipeline.

Now that Santos owns this lease and company and gas is being produced in ESG's PEL 238 its easy to see that such a use for the gas would be one of the collaborative activities that STO and ESG will pursue.

Just have to get those reserves certified and its all systems go I reckon .. hence the haste to dewater (requiring the two new laterals at B to speed it up)!!!
