It's a red flag unless it was a strategic decision. I may have missed where PG mentioned the lossening lending criteria. Do you remember what announcement this was in? Keen to have a read. This may explain the increase in arrears, although the 50% increase in 3 months is still a very large number.
I'm not sure I understand your point about increasing arrears rates with "Money by Afterpay". That's a deposit product, not a loan product so doesn't have an impact on arrears rates. If anything, the extra information Afterpay will gather from their customers could be used in their credit decisioning processes, hence can reduce arrears rates.
Question: Why drag APT into this? =/
