They know they are unelectable going forward with the policies voters rejected in the past.

They have to adapt to what the majority of voters want.

It's the same problem the US democrats face- if they listen to AOC and the extreme left, they will lose next year's elections. They will lose the majority in both houses unless they tone it right down. Can't risk a lame duck presidency.

Albo has to silence the extreme left if he wants to win office here. And once labor has office, he has to prevent the minions from within labor from demanding a carbon tax and pushing up electricity/fuel/food prices.
He can't win office unless he proves a way forward that will benefit Australians and not shackle us with more debt. Stupid spending promises ( 'I will build a better nbn for only a hundred billion more...' ) is not going to cut it. Any idiot can borrow money- a good leader however convinces business that tomorrow will be so good that they need to borrow now to ride the wave.

You know, we have a milk supplier on those little islands off of the North West of Tasmania where the air was scientifically declared the cleanest on earth. A litre of that milk sells in China for $15.

Good leaders help business to sell/export their products, and then business lifts the entire economy... labor leaders have to cease seeing themselves as Father Christmas', dispersing the wealth.
