Does anyone here know what the cost base of a free allocation of in specie shares would be, if a company in which I'm a shareholder hived off its gold assets into a newly formed company which happened to list on Friday?
Institutions got them for 20 cents, so is my cost base 20 cents per share? Got one new share for 8.5 shares held in the original company. Haven't got the prospectus.
