Good Morning Mesoblasters,
It's been awhile since I commented on the MSB forums. I'm no longer a holder, as I have previously posted, but I was a long term holder nonetheless. I do still sometimes read the threads as I still have MSB on a watchlist and will re-enter when the price or timing (for me) is right.
The experienced say to never get emotionally attached to a stock. And it's good advice. But I dare anyone to say that they didn't have that one stock. The one that held all of the promise. For some, it may have made it. For others, it might have failed. Or, perhaps the story is still being told. Mesoblast was the first for me.
So why do I post here today ?
Well, a good friend of the family recently passed and it was him that introduced to me Mesoblast. And so it is to him I owe the credit for the crazy 12 year ride I had on the MSB rollercoaster, but it is also him that sparked my subsequent interest in the stock market and share trading. Without his initial tip and his enthusiasm that followed over the years, I wouldn't have built the little portfolio I have today.
And whilst I didn't ever 'trade' Mesoblast (I wasn't bold enough or experienced enough) thus never realising the healthy profits I could have taken at that crazy $9+ or the recent $5.70, I never lost any money either. I know others have.
But the lessons along the way have been invaluable and I'm definitely the wiser for my experience here.
And for that I owe our friend a debt of gratitude. He was a very successful businessman. A devoted husband. A loving father and grandfather. And a great family friend. He had a brilliant sense of humour and was a wonderful person. Better still, he lived a full life and managed to see his grandkids grow. Unfortunately however, he didn't ever see Mesoblast achieve the success he knew they were capable of. And so I sincerely hope they do eventually get there for his family, as a small legacy from him.
Tonight I shall raise a glass in his honour and I continue to hope that Mesoblast will eventually achieve it's time in the sun. For him. For those Mesoblast can help, for Silviu and his team, and of course for you, the shareholders.
Good luck 'blasters. Keep the faith. And remember, life is for livin' - L.I.V.I.N.
Vale friend.
