No, the opposite is true. Any cell produced by someone and sold to Tesla (market leader by a huge margein) makes the available cells for all other car OEMs smaller. The market gets tighter as a result. So the other OEMs get more desperate to get a secure source of cells. This is quite positive for TLG.
Its pretty clear for quite some time that Tesla is moving too fast for TLG to keep up. I made comments to that effect before. But the effect will be that OEMs will have to find their anode elsewhere.
Tesla could also become a customer later, when Talga is in volume production. They have a gigantic need of cells, not only for cars, also for stationary storage. As was evident in the call.
