The worst of this is that in my experience a capital raising before an expected announcement tends to mean the announcement is not going to be good. Holders say things like: "Why raise now, when we could raise in a few weeks after the xxx announcement at a much higher SP." The question answers itself. The board does not expect a much higher SP in the near future.
I will be delighted to be proved wrong but that's my fear.
