Yes, agreed, and it's very sad.
This is known as the "Facebook factor".
We now have three generations of attention-seeking zombies that will look at a headline (only) and have become too lazy to put any effort into understanding what is really going on. Facebook has certainly changed the world, and for the worst. It's been a major factor in society dumbing down.
