In terms of comparison with the flu's mortality rate. When's the last time you were tested for influenza? When's the last time all of an influenza patient's close contacts were tested, how many people with mild flu like symptoms are tested for influenza. Early in the pandemic, several countries in Europe were showing a 10% death rate, because covid was being tested for like the flu - serious cases only were detected.

Australia's pneumonia stats are irrelevant - as it's barely been touched by covid - and the deaths that have occurred in Australia are probably more than offset by much lower rates of other respitory viruses - as measures that have snuffed out covid would have also snuffed out other viruses.
