Fastest Technology ?

I’ve been watching this tech since the start(big geek and 3d printing fan) but after therapid rise and fall got spooked... decided a few months ago it's probably far enough along now to be interesting.

I am VERY excited about the recent developments and here’s why.

From the Aurora Data sheet and the comments fromNamutu it works out that the RMP1 can run at 1.717 kg /hr in 316 Stainless steel.

The new SLM NXG XII 600 – from Third Directions comments has a theoretical print speed of 1000cc per hour - however they don’t mention what material – maybe Aluminium – however if you look at the video on the product they printed 2 Demo parts for the video – and SLM say they have been testing the NGX for a YEAR - one part in Inconel at 1.734kg/hr or 212cc/hr and one in aluminium at 0.73 kg / hr or 279 cc/hr

Ifthis is right the RMP1 is about as fast as the SLM NXG (The Aurora spec sheet does say theoretical speed and NGX test parts are actual)

Alsothe NGX advertised production rate is 10,000 kg/ year, at 80% use is 1.42kg/hr(? material)

Ithink this puts into perspective the achievement Aurora has just made. 1/3as many lasers and about the same speed as NGX – now that’s atechnical advantage. Can’t wait to see what they do next…!!!!! Go Team Aurora
