It's quite plain that the segment has more in common with a show like "Rove" than something like the 7:30 report, etc.
It seems fairly obvious to me that given the format of the show, flippant remarks can be expected occasionally, remarks which are nothing more than a diversion.
Slam her for making a joke that doesn't suit your kind of humour, but just whatever you do don't take the comments literally like the News.com.au journalists have.
