It’s cost exactly the same to blast and move a ton a waste rock when stripping as it does gold or silver ore. They move it by the ton, not sure why you think something that costs $1800/oz housed in rock is dearer than than something that costs $26/oz, it’s the host ore they are moving by the ton, why is it that you think it could possibly be cheaper?
The only metric that can change is the the volume throughput in the mill, if they process to capacity that can have an impact on processing costs.
