In Sydney it won't make a difference. TV ratings for league are going up in Sydney while Channel Ten has threatened to pull the Swans off the air because it rates fifth behind the SBS on a Saturday night. Viewers down to 115,000 on some nights.
I am not condoning the actions of the boofheads involved but it doesn't seem to have much effect at all.
If I recall wasn't there a Brisbane Lion player charged with assault against two women only a few weeks ago. I might be wrong, not sure. And an Essendon player doing drugs or something. If it was in the local paper here it was only a short filler somewhere, not big headlines. A mate told me that follows afl about it - is how I heard of it.
