PetroChina and KazMunaiGaz Team Up To Acquire Kazakhstan's MMG

"China National Oil & Gas Exploration and Development Corporation (CNODC) and KazMunaiGaz have formed Mangistau Investments B.V., a joint venture with each side taking a 50% stake, to acquire 100% of JSC Mangistaumunaigas (MMG) from Central Asia Petroleum. The deal, totaling $3.3 billion, includes oil and gas fields in Kalamkas and Zhetybai, and other upstream and exploration assets. A detailed price will be adjusted before the trade is settled."....
