Good to see GXR has 2 PUBG mobile PRO teams competing in the Middle East & India.
Fyi, PUBG mobile game has now returned to India under the new game name Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). BGMI had 10M downloads at launch & 34M pre-registration in 1 week in India.

A new Indian BGMI Pro league has been established where our existing GXR mobile Indian PUBG roster will compete.
While a new Middle East roster will compete in the existing PUBG Mobile Pro League run by Tencent.

    Why the big deal?
In my opinion, it's good strategy having teams in future big leagues while it is cheap to enter a team. Eventually, all these pro leagues will be become franchise leagues (similar to traditional sport).

If you look at franchised leagues in the US & Europe like LOL,Call of Duty, Overwatch etc.. will cost a significant amount to earn a slot.
For example most expensive franchise slot I've read is $20M-$25M franchise fee to field a team in the Overwatch league in the US.

In South East Asia mobile esports is rising fast. I've been watching Mobile Legends (MLBB) esports progress recently. It's a massive esports title in SEA region.
Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia & Philippines have leagues with insane viewership. At times there are matches that has over 300k live audiences.

One recent example of a competition becoming a franchise league is MLBB in the Philippines. As of next upcoming season it will become a franchise league.

The franchise will enable a more professional and standardized management system and team operation, providing players the much-needed stability they require. This includes full protection of players’ rights and interests. The diversified revenue model will see over USD 8,000,000 (400M PHP) shared amongst franchise teams over the next three years."

I think the reason why no esports ASX stock has yet booomed despite esports being a phenomenon is because no one is addressing esports for what it truly is a professional sport.
Looking at our peers there seem to be so much focus on building a casual/social gaming tournaments which in the end is just gaming. Esports is all about PRO gaming & any activities that supports the pro eco-system.
If you look at all the revenue projections on esports (ie newzoo etc) you will not find casual or social gaming tournaments are not mentioned under esports.

There are differences between an e-gaming tournament vs esports.
Esports became a phenomenon coz it was filling up stadiums with huge audiences worldwide (prior to covid).

    Ultimately, stadium/venue tournaments will return.
Online tournaments are great but nothing is better than a full stadium of screaming fans with a massive broadcast audience.

Hence, RTE/GXR activities are very exciting. They're addressing all matters of pro esports, gaming plus entertainment & technology.
