There are some hardrock mines along the Big River, from memory one is called Noel's mine ,,,, yep on Noel's reef, it's an addit and a current registered MIN, but don't think it's been work lately,, it's got a fairly large mullock heap filling the gully below it. I have see an 8gram slug of pretty crystaline gold from the addit and I've been told by the owner that some years ago some specimins have been detected where it outcrops along the the top of the spur.

There must be more around that area.
