Failed funding attempt with private investors (before the 2015 lithium price surge) and then comes along AGY as a vehicle to kick start. I'd say a mix of good timing and people taking opportunities that presented.

Just a shame that the lithium price collapsed over 2018-2020 due to oversupply and the demand story not quite yet at the reality stage. Put a halt on AGY/Puna for a few years.

Now the demand is here, it's real and it's exponentially growing. Supply won't be able to keep up this time.

Joe Lowry was harsh on PLS prior to production and now has completely flipped. I'd expect to see the same when AGY are commercially producing. Although he has vested interests in others it would be good to see him praise the project if his ego would let him. If AGY end up producing BG LCE at 2ktpa and then on to a future 12ktpa and Joe doesn't recognise the achievement, then there must have been some bad blood at FMC back in the day and can't move on. Would have been nice to be a fly on the wall back then.
