Unsure when QBE will release 1H results, last year 13 August, so maybe Friday or next Monday. The price rise and gapping suggests Mr Market has high expectations.
At the AGM, the Chair promised a dividend of 65% of adjusted NPAT. I haven't done my sums on the enlarged capital base, yet it should make QBE highly attractive to the army of divvy-hunters out there competing frantically over every scrap of yield.
My key metric remains premium increases. Get that right and all else will follow.
