    I broadly agree with what you're saying, and it's nice to read some posts from someone who has a technical understanding of engineering concepts.

    A slight correction, you said 700 bar in your post but the premised pressure is actually about 250bar. 250 bar is about the same operating pressure as a scuba diving tank. So, for anyone who has ever picked up a scuba diving tank, they would know the sort of strength that this entails. Imagine a scuba tank the size of a ship.

    I ran some numbers and I believe that the ship would burn about 30% of its cargo to do the round trip between Japan and Carnarvon. This is a lot.

    The amount of energy these ships can carry is very small compared with LNG carriers. A liquid is way more dense than a compressed gas.

    I don't believe the MOU will ever result in anything meaningful, because the numbers don't stack up. The energy density of compressed hydrogen is just way too low.
