I don't think EWC are in a position where they can comment on media reports. I think they've been in trouble in the past with some staements made without Indonesian Government approval so they are a lot more guarded these days with their comments ( even to nosy shareholders such as myself ).
You have also got to remember that EWC have never officialy acknowledged any problems and thus have no requirement to refute them.
The Company position has always been and still is - 'We are on track'. They are probably responding correctly in the circumstances.
It sounds like you may have both been in contact with them over a period . Is this what you've found ?
