Looks pretty confusing to me. I stand back and take
a look at some very basic metrics. That’s my focus.
Of course that doesn’t give the entire picture. But
in the end, the current share price is communicating
a very powerful message to share holders. For those
that bought in on the Teva deal at around 2 bucks on
a promise of greater profits, well they have been left
bitterly disappointed with huge on paper losses. That
is massive value destruction that is undeniable when
the SP now sits at sub 30 cents. So people can look
ahead at E4 etc and likely profits but the markets are
still taking a very dim view of Mayne and it’s strategy.
If E4 is going to be such a great money spinner then
why is the company sitting on such a low share price?
The market is far less enthusiastic about the forward
looking prospects than the dreamers are. One of the
biggest problems is the almost continual dilution with
this company which obviously continually erodes any
chances of giving any decent returns to share holders.
So yes if you are into digesting financial statements,
the that’s great but the share price is sending a very
strong message to the market that is far more powerful
than the figures buried in financial statements and that’s
why I focus on accumulated company debt and also
focus on historical shares on offer and then look at
current shares on offer. If the company believes it’s
shares are fundamentally undervalued then why not
initiate a share buyback???? If the market believes
the company is significantly undervalued then why
hasn’t another drug company swooped in for a bargain
and made a tilt at Mayne???? These are other factors
and questions that people should be looking at not
just looking at the financials because they only tell
part of the tale. This is not one of those hidden gems
in my opinion. Should the SP get back to 20 cents
in the next month or so, which is on the cards if results
are poor, then traders will jump in and most likely sell
out again on the upswing because of the risks going
forwards and past big mistakes made by this company.
