It could be an interesting night tonight.
Median forecast for CPI is for a .5% increase. The last few months have exceeded expectations.
I assume (as has been the case previously) that a large number of gold contracts will be dumped in the 5 seconds following release of the figures, after which gold will be bid back to where it started.
Tonight may be different however.
Following Monday's price action, I would guess there would be fewer stop losses to be hit than has been the case in previous months. I think the algorithms will sell regardless, I just wonder if it's worth it tonight?
