MikeM - your making some statements that are a bit misleading. By people taking accrued leave isn't really taking a pay cut but taking advantage of entitlements that are locked in the kitty already. I don't know of anyone who has been forced to take a pay cut or to have time off without pay unless it was by mutual consent, that doesn't mean some haven't interpreted it in this way. In fact BSL employees via their current award have had a 5% pay increase last March, and are due another 5% next March, not bad considering the GFC. The only ones who have been left high and dry are a classification known locally as 'staff'. For some obscure reason the upper management suddenly think of these people as 'management', of course to suit their own purpose. I hope O'malley didn't get a pay rise as you state, that would be going against the 'Bond' he aspires BSL to live by. On the labour front I think BSL have acted both considerate and in the best interests of its employees for the long term.
