Gee I hope Jeff Dahn and team have some niobium in the works. Looking at a great article posted by geenius on gbe forum. This article is one of many now highlighting niobium coating of cathode instead of nickel - what the scientists there are saying is this "reduces" the 40 year problem since these batteries have been undergoing development of batteries up to 18% of capacity on their first charge due to the nickel disseminating where as niobium used it is reduced to around 7-8%. Then again Jeff and team may have that covered but perhaps not - anyway I am sure the global scientists in this field are taking note.
