Sounds like the analyst had been tasked with shaking the stock down out of pension fund hands or other big institutional players that actually listen to (have to listen to) their expert advice.
Only to reveal months later that they themselves were buying all the way down.
And even if there is another supply glut as often happens in the memory business cycle, the trend long term is only going one way...
up and to the right.
