LNG deals are the flavour of this month & why not.

Started with India's Petronet-Exxon, yesterday's Santos-Gaz France, Woodside-Petrochina. U name it, its about the locking in the supply now for the nxt 20-30 years.

It's ironic that Austalia only consumes 1 tcf/yr with another TCF kept as balance, compared with the USA 23tcf/yr or China & India. Little wonder our reserves are like low hanging fruit that we dont even want to bite, only the rest of the world does !!

For now NXS-KAR will have to bide their time & won't get a pie of this slice, as they aren't partners with Woodside (except BHP & other internationals in this Cartel). WPL being the operator makes the headlines, however others in the cartel will get their share of this $50b.

When the time comes, both NXS/KAR will use the recent benchmark figures to play with. All they need is to prove their resource to reserves, & move to the nxt level as a producer.

IMO, NXS desperately needs a big brother!! They've alluded to a FLNG for both Crux & Echuca in their presentations.
However they really need the funding first or a player with expertise. We know Shell are developing the largest FLNG hub in Malaysia with Shell & Petronas. (33.3 % each). We also know that Inpex-Total plan a pipeline from Ichthys field to Darwin. Haven't seen NXS say anything about a pipeline, omly mention was for a FLNG-hub, which is what Shell's been raving on about, for its Prelude.

I think there is lots of potential for NXS, but its their funding that worries me for now.

Was having a look yesterday at a report by Peter Strachan frm Stock-Analysis, frm Aug '07, when NXS was $1.60 (u can do a google on Strachan Echuca), so its not only me who believes that both Crux & Echuca have the potential to b major headlines for NXS in the future.

Will just have to wait & see if NXS are looking for a farm-in partner for drilling more Fossetmaker wells or selling a further stake in Crux.

Personally, I dont believe its Longtom thats causing all this excitement, but then again I may b wrong, it could b something totally out of the left field. Will just have to wait for an update, I suppose.
