ASM Chart Thread, page-1876

No hangover today, thats a good start!
I consider ASM in its current format one of the best ever.
My research into the suite of products over the last 5 or so years just leaves my mind boggling.
Just an example Zerconium & Hafnium.
The twins history is that they are never separated for anything other than for the Nuclear industry.
This has ment that the uses for Hafnium has been largely controlled not by the price but the AVAILABILITY.

The newer alloys utilising Cobalt + Zr + Hf and I forget the rest have a very high melting point the kicker is that the structural integrity is maintained at over 90% of the melt point. ( my wife describes them as Bird metals )

Hf for example. lab tests have shown that a nano coating on glass turns it into a product that not only reflects the sun but draws the heat out of the other side, think passive airconditioning.
ASM can actually seperate the twins in the flow circuit
we will produce 99.99% pure and seperated Zr & Hf
The balance of the suite ditto ( other than the lower lanthides.)
What value can be placed on furnaces that use 50 to 70% power and produces oxygen and not Co2?

Our SMSF share portfolio consists of three ALK ASM & one minnow.
The setting up of this was a bit of a job. especially when ALK was sitting sub 30 cents.

So for me this is longer term than us although we will spend for what we need as appropriate!

Many have scoffed at me. The best one was a surgeon who bought on my advice a considerable amount @ 20 cents.
The follow up appointment some time later revealed he had disposed of them at tidy profit as he said " they double topped thats is as far as will go" , FFS, I just nodded and did not reply.
