I'm not sure how much of a hurdle that would actually be.
In reality A2 only has a small footprint in NZ. A 20% holding in Synlait (the rest chinese owned) and 75% in Mataur ( the rest chinese owned.)
I reckon it would be a bigger hurdle if a takeover came from the Chinese. A govt Minster has already said NZ should not rely on the chinese market - would make no sense for them to then allow 100% ownership of synlait and Mataura.
I'd have to check but I reckon Australian owned, NZ listed banks send more profit out of NZ than A2M would sending it to Nestle.
